Rishi Kapoor who had been admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai passed away today morning. His wife Neetu Kapoor was by his side. The veteran actor was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday morning.
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the news and tweeted about it. His tweet read, “T 3517 – He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
After news of his demise broke, fans and Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth, Madhur Bhandarkar, Rakul Preet Singh, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal and others took to social media to mourn the demise of the star.
Reacting on the demise of Rishi ji, one of the users wrote, “RIP Chintu Ji What An Actor ….!!! Thank You For All The Memories You Will Be Remembered Forever Legend #RishiKapoor #Rishi”
Meanwhile, earlier in a statement, his brother Randhir Kapoor said that Rishi was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday. He also said that there was no emergency or he would have been there. The actor added that Rishi will be alright. “He is in the hospital. He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problem, so he has been admitted to the hospital. He is stable now,” Randhir told. ( TOI )
