A female dead body was recovered from Power Canal at Thune area of Kangan in central kashmir’s Ganderbal district, Police sources said.

Police sources said that a female dead body was recovered from Power Canal at Thune under jurisdiction of Police station Kangan.

He said some locals spotted a dead body floating on Power Canal and immediately informed police, adding that after getting the information police team reached the spot and fished out the body from canal with the help of locals.

She has been identified as Shameema Bijard.

Meanwhile police have registered a case in this regard and further investigations has been taken up.
