Fiction Writers’ Guild convened its 298th session in Srinagar, with anticipation building for its upcoming 300th session. The gathering was presided over by Dr. Afaq Aziz, a noted author, academician, and historian, with assistance from Mr. Nisar Naseem, a prominent theatre activist and broadcaster.

During the session, Dr. Manzoor Nazar presented his Urdu short story titled “Smart City,” which examines the adverse impacts of religious bigotry on the lives of ordinary citizens. Arshad Mushtaq, a theatre activist and author, shared his story “Love Story No. 5,” exploring the dynamics of a childless couple returning to Kashmir after a prolonged absence abroad.

Both stories sparked a discussion on narrative techniques and storytelling. Dr. Aziz commended the authors for their poignant narratives and insightful themes, stating, “These stories reflect the complex realities of our times and the power of literature to address them.”
