No loss of life was reported in the incident.
The Mall is located near Amar Singh College in Srinagar’s Gogji Bagh.

“The fire had broken out. We pressed fire tenders from Gaw Kadal (area in Srinagar) and headquarters. When we reached here, we saw a lot of smoke had been generated from the basement area,” Aqib Hussain Dar (Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services) told ANI.

“There were flames. First, we contained the flames due to the tremendous efforts of firefighters. Due care had been taken for ventilation due to which smoke accumulated inside leading to untenable conditions and causing problems for the firefighters,” Dar added.

He added that the operation was conducted by using breathing apparatus sets and lighting towers
“No casualties have been reported in the incident. There could have been extensive damage to property but our swift and prompt action contained the damage, ” Dar added. (ANI)
