Srinagar, July 02 : A devastating fire swept through a residential area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag late Tuesday night, damaging ten residential houses and eight shops, according to local official sources.
Local residents reported that the fire originated in one of the houses and quickly spread to adjacent properties, resulting in extensive damage.
Fire and emergency services were promptly alerted and rushed to the scene, where they managed to bring the blaze under control after strenuous efforts.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
“We received the distress call and acted swiftly to contain the fire,” said a fire department official, adding that further details about the incident are being determined.
The incident has left the community reeling as authorities assess the full extent of the damage caused by this unfortunate event.
