First Woman IG of CRPF in Kashmir completes tenure, transferred to Hyderabad

Srinagar Sector, CRPF bids farewell to its first woman IG, Ms. Charu Sinha who is proceeding on transfer to Hyderabad after having completed a highly successful tenure of two and a half years in Central Kashmir.

A spokesman said Ms. Charu Sinha has been instrumental in bringing a sense of harmony to the local community and contributed immensely towards security and peace in the region.

“During her tenure, she directed CRPF operations with utmost sensitivity towards local sensibilities. Citizen friendly attitude of CRPF remained central to her tenure in Central Kashmir,” he said.

The spokesman said during her tenure, Sinha demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and worked tirelessly to improve security scenario in the region.

Her efforts in fostering strong relationships with the local community have helped build trust and cooperation between CRPF and the local population, he said.

In her message to the people of Kashmir, Ms. Charu Sinha expressed her confidence in the fact that the people of Kashmir, with their inherent zest for a spirited way of life, will keep ushering themselves toward an era of unending peace & tranquility.

She underscored the fact that this particular tenure of her public service has been a learning experience of immense value to her.

Speaking about her tenure, Ms. Charu Sinha said, “I am proud of what we have achieved together in the last two and a half years. The people of this region have been incredibly supportive, and we have been able to establish a strong foundation of trust and cooperation. I am confident that my successor will build upon our success and continue to work towards a safer and more secure future for the people of this region.” 

“It is not only the breathtakingly ethereal beauty of the place or the people, it is also their simple way of life, the sheer pride they take in their culture and rich history, their age-old and inherent belief in spirituality, what would stay etched in my mind and remain with me forever. Kashmir will always be home and Kashmiris, family to me”, Ms. Charu Sinha said.

‎Srinagar Sector CRPF has expressed its gratitude to Ms. Charu Sinha for her dedication and contribution in making CRPF rise to the security challenges in Central Kashmir. Her hard work, dedication, and leadership have been an inspiration to her colleagues and have set an example for others to follow.

The transfer of Ms. Charu Sinha marks the end of a successful chapter in her career and the beginning of a new challenge. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and look forward to her continued success in the years to come.
