Five burglars arrested, stolen property recovered in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir police arrested five burglars and recovered stolen property in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, a police spokesman said here on Sunday.

He said one a shopkeeper Shamim Ahmad Baba reported in Police Station Gund that on February 3rd, some burglars looted his mobile shop at Kullan, Ganderbal.

During the course of investigation, five accused persons Liakat Ahmad Tadwa, Shahnawaz Ahmad Waar, Kaiser Ahmad Khan, all residents of Raizan, Irshad Ahmad Khatana resident of Yash Hama Mamar and Irshad Ahmad Raina resident of Hariganiwan were arrested.

On their instance, stolen items including 16 smart phones, one coil electric wire, 5 pen drives, 6 mobile chargers, 4 wrist watches, 2 solar lanterns, 19 mobile batteries, dried tray namkeen of 5 kg and 2 carrying bags were recovered.

During further investigation, they confessed to have jointly committed burglaries in two more shops of mobile and accessories and grocery shops at Ganiwan and Kullan areas respectively.
