Flash floods damage Residential Houses, Masjid Shareef and a Government Primary School in Kangan

Some Residential Houses and a Primary school besides Masjid Shareef suffered damage after heavy rains in the wee hours on Saturday triggered flash floods in Gujar Pati Preng area of Kangan in Ganderbal district.

According to reports due to cloudburst followed by torrential rains caused flash floods in a tributary due to which some residential houses ,Masjid Shareef and a Government Primary school at Panzindara got damaged as Water entered into their.

An official said that a flash flood triggered by heavy rains occurred in a Stream passing through the village.

There was no loss of life or injuries reported, he said.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan Javid Rather, Tehsildar Kangan Dr Haroon Rashid along with Revenue department , SHO Turk Zahoor and irrigation and flood control department, visited the spot to assess the situation.
