The Department of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Jammu and Kashmir, is pleased to announce the opening of the Chrysanthemum Garden at the Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden, Srinagar, marking a vibrant celebration of seasonal blooms and creative expression.

To commemorate this year’s floral spectacle, the Department has launched two exciting competitions for visitors and creators — an Instagram Reel Competition and a Photography Competition — inviting participants to capture the essence, colour, and charm of the Garden in full bloom.

Participants are encouraged to create 15–60 second Reels that tell a creative story of the Garden’s beauty, atmosphere, and spirit. Entries may be shot on any device, provided they highlight the natural allure of the Chrysanthemum Garden without excessive filters or editing.

All Reels must be posted on Instagram, tagging and adding @gardensandparks_jk as a collaborator. Participants are also required to share their entries in high resolution via email to fonmbg@gmail.com. A short concept note is encouraged.

The evaluation will be based on 40% for Instagram engagement (views, likes, comments) and 60% for Creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme, judged by a professional committee.

Prizes money includes ₹20,000 (1st Prize), ₹10,000 (2nd Prize), and ₹5,000 (3rd Prize).

For those with a keen eye for still imagery, the Department invites participants to capture the spirit, colours, and character of the Garden through their lens. Any device may be used, and photographs should maintain the natural charm of the Garden.

Entries must be posted on Instagram with @gardensandparks_jk tagged and added as collaborator, and also shared via email in high resolution (JPG format, up to 25 MB). A short concept note describing the photograph is encouraged.

Evaluation will follow similar criteria of  40% for Instagram engagement and 60% for Creativity, composition, and relevance to the theme. Prizes money includes ₹20,000 (1st Prize), ₹10,000 (2nd Prize), and ₹5,000 (3rd Prize).

The competitions will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel of officer and experts.

All entries (Reel or Photograph) must be posted and emailed by 5:00 PM on 5th November 2025.

Winners will be announced on the official Instagram handle @gardensandparks_jk, and their work may be featured in future promotional campaigns of the Department (with due credit).

For further details or queries, participants may contact the Department via Instagram DM (@gardensandparks_jk) or email at fonmbg@gmail.com.
