Former J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik Passes Away at 79

Srinagar, Aug 5 : Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), Malik was admitted to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital for treatment, where he breathed his last.

Satya Pal Malik served as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir during a historic and crucial period in 2019, when the Union Government abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the erstwhile state into two Union Territories Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
