“I have always represented the aspirations of the people, Bukhari told that he met with Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday and decided to return to the party.

Bukhari was expelled from the PDP in 2018 for anti-party activities after the PDP-BJP coalition government collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir.

In December 2018, he joined the National Conference but left in 2021 to join Sajad Lone’s People’s Conference. He was expelled from the People’s Conference in June 2023.

Bukhari originally joined the PDP in 2003 and was elected from the Sangrama constituency in Baramulla district in 2008 and 2014. He served as Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and Relief and Rehabilitation in the previous PDP-BJP government.(KNS)
