Four persons held for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam

Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Budgam have arrested 04 persons and seized 04 vehicles involved in the commission of crime.

A police spokesman said, “Police Station Khag received an information about illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Drung area of Budgam. Accordingly, a police party of Police Station Khag raided the specific location and seized 04 vehicles (03 Tractors, 01 tipper) & arrested 04 drivers on spot with illegally extracted Bajri/boulders. The drivers have been identified as Nazir Ahmed Naik resident of Kokarbagh Khag, Ajaz Ahmed Dar resident of Drung, Shayar Ahmed Mir resident of Kupwara & Mudasir Ahmed Rather resident of Charhara Khag. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.”

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 51/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khag and investigation set into motion.
