New York, July 30: In a significant diplomatic development, France along with 14 other Western countries has jointly called on the international community to recognize the State of Palestine.
“In New York, together with 14 other countries, France is issuing a collective appeal: we express our desire to recognise the State of Palestine and invite those who have not yet done so to join us,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated on X (formerly Twitter).
The announcement came following a high-level international conference focused on revitalizing the long-stalled two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians.
The move is seen as an attempt to reignite global momentum towards peace and reaffirm support for a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel.
