Fresh snowfall, shooting stones close Srinagar-Jammu highway

Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed on Thursday following fresh snowfall and shooting along the thoroughfare.

Reports said Fresh snowfall was reported at Jawahar Tunnel and shooting stones and landslides occurred in Keri area of Udhampur.

“The Jammu-Srinagar highway remains still blocked due to landslide, shooting stones at several places. Men and machinery on job to restore the traffic,” an official said.

The officer have appealed the general public not to start their journey from the either side of the road before knowing the status of the highway from your nearest traffic units (TCUs).

It is pertinent to mention that highway got blocked several times in past couples of day
