Thousands converged at Hazratbal for congregational prayers

On the eve of Friday following Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), thousands of devotees converged at the Kashmir’s revered shrine of Hazratbal Dargah that houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to have a glimpse of the Holy relic.

As per the news agency Eid-e-Milad (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was observed on Tuesday with religious zeal and enthusiasm.

On Friday following today, the congregational prayers were held at various shrines and Masjids across the Valley while the main gathering was held at Hazratbal Dargah shrine here where the devotees from different parts of the Valley participated in the special prayers.

The special arrangements were made today in wake of the Covid-19 with Waqf officials informing that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were followed in letter and spirit.

However, the historic Jamia Masjid, which usually witnesses a huge gathering on the Friday following of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) , remained closed as a preventive measure due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
