Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Srinagar MP, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, said on Saturday that they will persist in their struggle against the forces that have marginalized Kashmiris and stripped them of their rights.

In an interview with a Srinagar-based television channel ANN, he stated that the National Conference will advocate for the restoration of Article 370 and the rights that have been taken from the people. “We will fight with dignity, as the people have chosen representatives to voice their concerns, given that they cannot protest individually,” said the 47-year-old MP, who has been involved in politics from an early age.

“We want to maintain a friendly relationship with the central government, but we won’t accept that friendship at the cost of our honor and dignity. We did not receive a mandate from the people for that,” said Ruhullah Mehdi, the man campaigner for the National Conference during the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir

“Our mandate is to fight for our rights, whether under the BJP or Congress. We must first demand what has been taken from us. If one party refuses, we can seek support from another that comes to power. We must stand against those who have abused us and stripped away our rights,” he said.
