Ganderbal Police arrests Butcher for selling meat at exorbitant rates

May 22: Acting tough against the shopkeeper for selling items on the inflated rates, Police in Ganderbal have arrested a butcher for selling meat at exorbitant rates.

Officers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal have arrested a butcher identified as Reyaz Ahmad Rather resident of Saloora for selling meat at exorbitant rates.

Accordingly, case FIR NO. 103/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Ganderbal and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Police have requested the traders and shopkeepers not to indulge in overpricing, black marketing, hoarding or any violation of essential commodities otherwise strict action under law will be taken against the violators.

General public of the area has hailed the action of Ganderbal police. (JKNS)
