Ganderbal, June 12: Ganderbal Police on Friday held a coordination meeting with nodal officers of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to review security and logistical arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.
The meeting, chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama at the District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal, focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination to ensure the smooth, safe and successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
According to a statement issued by Ganderbal Police to news agency, detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, deployment plans, traffic management, emergency response mechanisms, communication systems and pilgrim facilitation measures.
The SSP stressed the need for close coordination among all security and allied agencies deployed for the Yatra and emphasized ensuring the availability of essential facilities at Baltal Base Camp and other camping locations.
The meeting reviewed arrangements related to accommodation, sanitation, medical assistance, drinking water, power supply and other logistical requirements aimed at ensuring the convenience and welfare of pilgrims.
Officers also discussed contingency plans and highlighted the importance of maintaining a high level of preparedness and vigilance to effectively deal with any emergent situation during the pilgrimage period.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to providing a secure and pilgrim-friendly environment and said all necessary measures are being taken in coordination with CAPF units and the civil administration for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
