Baramulla, July 14 (JKNS): The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Baramulla and Civil Defence Uri on Monday retrieved the body of a Hyderpora minor in the tragic drowning incident that occurred at the Gantmulla Power Canal in Boniyar, Baramulla.

An official told news agency JKNS that the body of Ahmad Bin Khalid, a 12-year-old boy from Hyderpora, Srinagar, was recovered during the ongoing search operation.

The minor had drowned while bathing in the water reservoir on Sunday, along with three other family members.

One person had been rescued earlier, while the body of another minor was recovered the same day. With the retrieval of Ahmad’s body today, the total number of recovered victims stands at two, while the body of Mehnaz Rashid Shah (40), son of Ab Rashid Shah of Khanyar, Srinagar, remains untraced.

The joint operation involves SDRF Baramulla, Civil Defence Uri, J&K Police, and local volunteers, who are continuing intensive efforts to trace the remaining missing person.

SHO Boniyar confirmed to JKNS that all available resources are being utilised and the operation will continue until the last victim is found. (JKNS)
