Gilgit-Baltistan is an indivisible part of Jammu and Kashmir state and any change in its status and its boundaries by India and Pakistan is unacceptable. This was stated during a global web conference organized by United Kashmir Peoples National Party (UKPNP).

The seminar headed by JPNP chairman Sardar Showkat Ali Kashmiri and attended by several representatives of political parties throughout the globe belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan was also participated by ANC vice-president Muzaffar Shah.

During the conference, an appeal was made to J&K political parties, in particular to the political parties of the Gupkar Deceleration headed by Dr. Farooq Abdullah to raise their voice against the attempts of the Government of Pakistan to make Gilgit-Baltistan as its fifth province .
“This decision is unacceptable to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan as the region is a part and parcel of the state of J&K”, a consensus arrived at in the conference quoted the statement.

The Web Conference expressed its deep anguish and dissatisfaction strongly rejecting the arbitrary and unconstitutional actions of the Government of India taken on 5th August 2019 and the division of J&K State into two Union Territories.

It also expressed the hope that the J&K political leadership will stand by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in rejecting the arbitrary and unconstitutional attempts of the Government of Pakistan to make Gilgit-Baltistan as its fifth province.
The Web Conference also appealed to the Dogra brethren and their political representatives, in particular the chairman of National Panthers Party Prof. Bhim Singh to come forward in protection of the erstwhile State of J&K and raise their voice to ensure that the State of J&K remains as a single entity as it existed on 14th August 1947.

It is the People of J&K State on both sides of the line of control constituting the five regions of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit Baltistan who are the principal sufferers of the hostilities between India and Pakistan and are the principal party of the vexed Kashmir imbroglio.
At the occasion the speakers from political parties of Gilgit-Baltistan reemphasized the legal and moral obligation of the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir pending since 1948.
