The essence of peace has been shredded into pieces today. Hankering after materialistic gains and hypnotizing on wielding the supremacy in religion has made hatred to seep into our professions, families, friendship and the most important aspect of community service. While our individual lust is to be blamed more but it’s the sensitive and imperative issues which are driving us more towards racism, casteism, religious bashing and sectarian divides.
Love is a feeling of ecstasy, inherited by all of us. God has bestowed upon mankind oodles of love which, however, we’re not channelizing or utilizing to the hilt to spread affection and utopian blessings across the world. Giant leaps by modern society in education, medicine, science, literature has driven majority of people towards unprecedented economic prosperity. Nations’ across the world are investing huge resources in surging ahead technologically as it (technology) has become the vital cog of modern economic wheel.
However, in the din of this financial boom and rat race of maintaining the edge has emerged a sordid tale—hatred has made way for love. As every success story has a sad part too…the advancements across all the economic sectors in today’s times have come at the precious cost of exchanging mirth or spreading love. People are so engrossed in rapacious means that minting money has become the sole parameter to live a successful life.
This financial mad race merits a question: “Can money buy us anything?” The answer lies in diversity of this question. Money guarantees us a luxurious life but it can’t buy the love we need to shower upon mankind, upon our family, relatives and friends. Given materialism rules the roost and lust has become the raison d’etre of today’s love stories, however, there are exceptions though sparse where we become sanguine that society has still some expectations from us.
Enveloped in hatred, we’ve become apathetic, insensitive and callous towards the suffering of our elders, parents, brethren and sisters. The biggest damage, however, done to every fabric of our society has come from religion which stands most misused today by bigots’ and fanatics. Pan religionists’ in Kashmir are taking undue advantage of religious scriptures, distorting the narrative to suit their own agenda.
There’s no denying religious supremacy has become the biggest tool for spreading hatred. However, cutting across religions, there are many pacifist scholars who are sparing no stone unturned in imbibing among us the spirit of serving the humanity. We’ve to encourage them by becoming their support if we’re serious in saving this world from falling to the blood sucking Draculas.
Let’s give peace a chance to prevail as it’s the only antidote to beat the beast of hatred. Let’s join hands to make this world the Elysium it deserves to be.
