Good Governance Week: DC Srinagar sanctions 1683 cases under Ladli Beti Scheme

In wake of ongoing “Good Governance Week”, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today sanctioned 1683 new cases under the Ladli Beti scheme in a meeting held here today.

District Program Officer, ICDS, Zeenat Ara and other concerned were present in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Ladli Beti scheme is aimed to address imbalance in gender ratio and create positive temperament towards girl child right from birth to adulthood by providing financial assistance.

The DC stressed on making concerted efforts by all stakeholders to achieve the desired objective of securing the future of the girl child.  He asked the concerned officers to ensure that no deserving beneficiary is left out in implementation of the scheme. He also emphasised to take up new cases under the Ladli Beti scheme every month to avoid any pendency .

Under the scheme, the Government contributes Rs 1000 per month for 14 years towards the birth of a girl child and after maturity Girl Child will get Rs 6.50 lakh

Meanwhile, the DC has hailed the efforts of the concerned officials for identifying and preparing a list of 1683 eligible beneficiaries under Ladli Beti scheme and enjoined upon them to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure every deserving beneficiary is covered under the scheme in a time bound manner to set the example for other Departments with regard to the Good Governance initiative.
