The district administration Srinagar has accommodated students who returned from Bangladesh in the heart of the city. The move has created panic among the people residing in the surrounding areas.
A government employee who resides in the area said the students were ferried directly from the Airport and were adjusted in a government building in the heart of the city.
“These students should have been kept at the proper place after a proper check-up by the doctors. But, the administration took shifted them here which has created panic among other residents,” the employee, who also resides in the government accommodation, said.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said only 12 to 15 left out students were shifted to a government building in the heart of the city and there was nothing to be panic about it.
“Even if other employees reside there but the students who have been adjusted there, are not suspected of COVID-19. No one is infected among them,” DC Srinagar said.
He should there should be a common understanding among people that students adjusted at these locations “are not tested positive”.
“If they (students) stay anywhere it should not create panic for anyone. They are checked by doctors regularly and will be shifted from these buildings on doctors’ advice,” Shahid Choudhary said.
