The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association here on Sunday expressed profound disappointment at the last-minute decision by the Health Ministry to postpone the NEET-PG entrance examination. In a Statement, National Convenor of Association Nasir Khuehami said that, This abrupt change has caused a significant waste of time, money, and effort for students who had traveled to other states to take the exam. Such rushed decision-making imposes unnecessary hardships on students.
This unfortunate incident adds to the frustration and uncertainty already faced by students due to repeated disappointments from the National Testing Agency (NTA). The immense pressure and anxiety students endure in such circumstances are often overlooked by those accountable for these failures.
Why should students suffer due to systemic incompetence? The NTA and the Ministry have failed to uphold the integrity of these critical examinations. The dedicated efforts of thousands of students have been in vain due to this arbitrary decision, he said.
Khuehami said, we call upon the authorities to reassess their approach and implement measures to prevent such disruptions in the future. The hard work of students must not be allowed to go in vain.
The Association said that students travelled to major cities before the exam just to ensure they arrived on time. Now, just hours before the exam, it is being postponed because of the inability to control leaks. What kind of “Pariksha pe Charcha” does the central government want?
This last-minute decision has cause significant discomfort for thousands of students. Imagine the stress and harassment they must be experiencing after preparing an entire year for such a tough exam, only to find out a few hours before that it is canceled, it said.
This is outrageous! Thousands of students and their families travel great distances to take the NEET-PG exam, only for it to be canceled at the last minute. This isn’t the first time the exam has been postponed this year either, it added.
This abrupt announcement, made late at night, has left students in utter disarray. Despite this glaring failure, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is attempting to deflect blame by firing the head of the NTA. This chaos is a direct result of Ministry’s incompetence & mismanagement.
Due to their inability to do their job, the government is playing with the lives and futures of children. The Association also demanded a high-level probe into the agency responsible for conducting the NEET-UG and NEET-PG examinations, he asserted.
The NEET-PG exam was canceled just 10 hours before it was supposed to be conducted, even after students traveled from all over the country to reach their centers. Canceling the exam at such short notice is no less than playing with the emotions of the doctors, he emphasized.
The Association demanded the scrapping of the NTA altogether and compensation for students affected by the untimely postponement of exams. The government’s inability to perform their duties is jeopardizing the lives and futures of aspiring doctors.
