GOVT ALLOWS FRIDAY PRAYERS AT HISTORIC JAMIA MASJID AFTER 6 WEEKS

The state government , today allowed the mandatory Friday congregation prayers at historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar after Six weeks.

All the gates of the historic Masjid that remained locked for the past six weeks were allowed to open by the state government today.

Jamia Masjid is the traditional strong hold of Mirwaiz Family of Kashmir and the Friday sermons are delivered by the present Mirwaz  Molvi Umar Farooq.

The Jamia Market was also open and shopkeepers were allowed to do the normal business after six  weeks.
