Srinagar, Aug 22: Education Minister Sakina Itoo clarified that the government has not taken over the management committees of FAT schools, but only made an interim arrangement to ensure smooth functioning.

She said that with the tenure of the existing management having expired, the future of 51,363 students was at stake. To safeguard their careers, the government decided that the principal of the nearest higher secondary school will serve as in-charge of the concerned FAT schools for three months.

“To protect the academic career of our children, this temporary step was taken. Unfortunately, the Secretary SED has wrongly mentioned in the order that Deputy Commissioners will take over,” the minister explained | Kashmir Pen
