GREF Employee Dies After Scooty Hit By Army Vehicle in Mendhar

A General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) employee, riding scooty, deid after being hit by an army vehicle at Uchhad in Mankote in Poonch district, officials said.

They said Javed iqbal son of Maneer Hussain of village Qasba Poonch who was working in GREF 79RCC Poonch as a labourer while riding a scooty bearing registration number JK12A-2053 was hit by an army vehicle at Ucchad near BSF camp in Pahalian Salani.

In the incident, they told, the scooty rider sustained serious injuries and was removed to SDH Mendhar by a police team.
BMO Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Ahmad Khan told that the injured person was referred to GMC Rajouri in view of critical wounds on his right femur and pelvis. However it was learnt the injured person succumbed on way to the hospital, the medical officer said.

Meanwhile a police officer confirming the incident told that cognizance has been taken for due proceedings. (GNS)
