Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday appointed Gulzar Ahmad Khatana as vice chairperson, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjar & Bakerwals, in place of Choudhary Zafar Ali.

Gulzar hails from Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Choudhary Zafar Ali had resigned from the post of vice-chairman of Jammu and Kashmir State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals.

He had assumed the office on 20 August, 2015. In his resignation letter addressed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Zafar Ali expressed displeasure over allegation leveled on him for being affiliated with some other political party.
