A gunfight broke out between millitants and security forces in Nowpora-Kherpora area of in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, police said.

“Encounter has started at Nowpora-Kherpora, Trubji area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” police said.

Reports said two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
