Bandipora, Oct 14: The Gurez-Bandipora road was cleared and reopened for traffic on Wednesday after moderate to heavy snowfall was reported in parts of Gurez, including Razdan Top, Kilshay Top and Kobal Gali.

Razdan Top recorded nearly five inches of snow, leading to slippery road conditions and disruption to connectivity.

Officials said snow-clearance machinery had been pressed into service to restore road connectivity. The road was subsequently cleared and reopened, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Gurez, said.

The snowfall has brought fresh challenges for commuters travelling along the mountainous route, where road conditions can deteriorate rapidly during adverse weather.
