Awantipora, Nov 10 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed strong confidence in the National Conference’s prospects in the Budgam, Nagrota by-poll, saying the party was contesting with a clear expectation of victory.

Speaking to media persons in Awantipora, CM Omar as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said, “Who contests elections with the expectation of losing? We are contesting with the hope of winning. We have worked hard.”

“Our outreach is strong. If votes come from the right areas and in good numbers, we are confident of achieving a positive result,” Omar said.

The National Conference has fielded Aga Syed Mehmood as its candidate for the Budgam seat, while the PDP is contesting with Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi. The BJP has nominated Aga Mohsin as its official candidate.

By-Polls for the Budgam, Nagrota assembly seat is scheduled to take place tomorrow on Tuesday.
