Srinagar, Oct 25 : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said the UT government has taken steps to reconnect youth to their roots and provide an environment to folk artists, visual artists and authors to showcase our shared goals and values to the world.
As per news wire – – the Lieutenant Governor made these remarks while inaugurating “Jashn-e-Kashmir”, three-week long cultural festival in Tagore Hall Srinagar here.

“Our unique diversity is our pride, our biggest strength and such festivals will encourage artistes, artisans & craftsmen to promote the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, the LG Sinha said.
He said the UT government has taken steps to reconnect youth to their roots as this is the need of hour. “We have taken steps to reconnect youth to their roots & provide an environment and a forum to folk artistes, visual artistes and authors to showcase our shared goals and values to the world”, he said.
The LG also said that efforts are also being made to document and preserve folk treasure of songs and tales.
The LG at the occasion distributed awards among artists of different categories and maintained “Much things are needed for their betterment as they have served our society in different levels”.
He added many of our artists survived in critical situation while as many left and moved to other parts owing to the unfair situation that hurted sentiments of people widely.


He further added that all of us is aware that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing large scale development, so every section of the society has to ponder upon how J&K will be taken to new heights.
The LG asserted that artists have a key role in transformation of society. “Artists must keep hope on us. We all make J&K a brighter destination together”, the LG said.
