No improvement in weather conditions for another 24hrs

Moderate to heavy rains, that started in the early morning, continued throughout the day in most parts of Kashmir, even as the weather conditions are likely to remain the same for another 24hrs.

As per an independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif – founder of Kashmir Weather, moderate rainfall across plains of Kashmir is likely to continue for another 24hrs while higher reaches may receive moderate to heavy snowfall during the same period. There are even chances of light snowfall in some plains. Weather conditions are likely to improve from tomorrow evening.

Between 8:30a.m. to 5:30p.m., Srinagar recorded rainfall equivalent to 15.7mm.
Due to non-stop rains, roads in Srinagar were inundated, thus creating problems for people. The same conditions were also reported from different parts of the Valley.

Maximum temperature in Srinagar settled at 8.6°C, which is 6 degrees below the average for this time of the year.

Kupwara recorded a maximum temperature of 6.1°C while rains equivalent to 27mm.

Pahalgam recorded a high temperature of 4.4°C while 8.3mm rains between 8:30a.m. to 5:30p.m.

Qazigund, Gulmarg and Kokernag recorded maximum temperatures of 10.6°C, 0.4°C and 11.8°C respectively.
