The wife of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen deputy chief Aamir Khan passed away on Thursday evening in Pakistan.
Her funeral prayers in absentia will be held at her native village of Levar in Dachnipora belt of Pahalgam in south Kashmir today.
Family sources told that Fatima Begum (55) had travelled to Pakistan only few months back to meet her husband.
She complained of severe headache there and was diagnosed of brain tumour, they said.
“Fatima was even successfully operated upon and her tumour was removed. However, yesterday her condition again deteriorated and she was rushed to a nearby hospital in Pakistan’s federal capital Islamabad, where she breathed her last around 9 pm local time,” they said.
Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Aamir Khan alias Saifullah Khalid was Hizb ul Mujahideen’s operational chief in the valley before crossing over to Pakistan two decades back.
Khan’s brother was allegedly killed by army in early nineties while his son – an 11th standard student – was allegedly dragged out of school by army from Higher secondary school Srigufwara in the year 2000 and killed in cold blood.
His other son died in an accident.
