Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Wednesday launched many welfare projects for farmers of Jammu and Kashmir and their children.
Speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebration program, the Managing Director Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO), Dr Ushay Shankar Awasthi unveiled Indian Cooperative Digital Platform, which is an online information database, for the farmers of J&K.
“The Indian Cooperative Digital platform is a first of its kind database of information to help farmers get the hand on information on everything related to farming and fertilisers,” he said.
Dr Awasthi also launched IFFCO Yuva, a skill and employment-based initiative for youth.
“This platform will connect youth with the IFFCO skill and job training. I would like to invite the youth especially those associated with farmer’s family to join this program,” he said.
Earlier, continuing IFFCO’s Golden Jubilee Celebration programme, 120th programme was organised at the Kashmir Apex Society, Nowgam Bye pass. Dr Awasthi was the chief guest of this programme while Haji Ali Mohd Wani , Chief Patron Kashmir Apex, Altaf Ahmed Andrabi, Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Peerzada Hafizullah, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Secretary Cooperation also attended this programme.
Muhammad Yousuf Dar, President Fruit Association also attended this programme. Yoginder Kumar, Executive Director IFFCO Delhi also spoke to farmers and Cooperative members about the use of various new IFFCO product like Biofertilizers, Water soluble fertilizers and especially seaweed product Sagarika.
He discussed how to use them in fruit and field crops. “I urge farmers to use them for best productivity.”
Altaf Ahmed Andarbi, Director Agri Kashmir explained about various schemes launched for benefit of orchardists and farmers. Bashir Ahmed Bhat Secretary Cooperation and Peerjada Hafizullah RCS J&K also talked about the present scenario and further initiatives taken for the development of cooperatives in the state. Some progressive farmers and co-operators also expressed their view.
The MD also addressed the farmers and co-operators and assured them that every effort will be taken to strengthen the cooperatives and also to increase the agriculture know-how of farmers.
On the occasion 10 best farmers and 10 best cooperative members were honoured by Dr Awasthi for their contribution in agriculture and cooperatives.
