Taking advantage of the current lockdown, vested interest elements have started erecting illegal tin sheds on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Hyderbeigh Pattan.

Sources told news agency that some people have erected tin sheds that will likely be converted into shops in coming days. These sheds are coming up in between Srinagar-Baramulla highway and Irrigation Canal.

“It is a serious matter and authorities need to act. How can people take advantage of lockdown and raise illegal structures,” said a local.

Another local said that illegal structures that have been coming up are barely 10 feet away from Highway and it is irony that concerned official fail to notice all this.

Ironically, SDM Pattan Syed Naseer asked this Reporter to submit a complaint against it. When asked can’t he visit the site and check the facts as an official, the SDM agreed and said he will ascertain the facts. ( KNT )
