Officials said that the incident occurred amid continuous shooting stones and mudslides in the area, leaving two persons dead and several others injured. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The identities of both deceased persons and the injured are yet to be ascertained, officials said, adding that the highway has been closed to traffic due to mudslides and shooting stones.

“Restoration work is underway, but it is expected to take some time before the road is reopened,” they said.
