Srinagar, Oct 1, 2025: An income tax team on Wednesday carried out a raid at a residential house in Karanagar locality of Srinagar, officials said.
The search was conducted at the residence of Mohammad Shafi Sidiqi, located in Karan Nagar. Sources said that the team arrived in the morning and began an extensive search operation, which was still going on at the time of filing this report.
While officials have not shared details of the case, the raid is said to be part of an ongoing investigation into financial transactions. “The search is continuing and documents are being scrutinised. The operation is being conducted under due legal procedure,” a source familiar with the matter said.
The presence of the income tax team drew local attention, with people gathering near the area to witness the development. Security personnel have been deployed outside the house to ensure that the operation proceeds without interruption. (CNS)
