JAMMU, Feb 12 ; Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Thursday asserted that India is scripting a “great renaissance” by seamlessly blending its ancient spiritual consciousness with cutting-edge scientific and technological advancements, positioning the nation as the future guide for the global order.

Addressing the ‘Dyar Daham’ celebrations as part of Mahashivratri festivities at Mata Bhadrakali Asthapan in Thalwal, Sinha called upon the youth to awaken their “inner spiritual fire” and match strides with the country’s technological leaps.

“For thousands of years, this sacred land has journeyed toward spiritual excellence. In the near future, India alone will guide the world towards the right path,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He emphasised that India is currently spearheading two simultaneous revolutions — one transforming external infrastructure, artificial intelligence and the digital economy, and the other reshaping consciousness, values and a global vision for society.

“We are not just conquering quantum computing; we are awakening a quantum consciousness in daily life. This dual revolution will make India not merely prosperous, but a balanced superpower,” Sinha asserted.

Rejecting the notion of a divide between science and spirituality, the Lt Governor observed that India’s rishis and sages were the original scientists, excelling in both material and metaphysical realms.

“India’s ancient wisdom proves spirituality and scientific discovery aren’t foes but allies. Science labs and ashrams aren’t rivals — they are twin milestones on the same path,” he said.

Underscoring the country’s civilisational ethos, he noted India has always placed the pursuit of truth above all else, championing peace, global brotherhood and steadfast adherence to dharma.

“In today’s world, where nations race ahead with one technological marvel after another, we must connect hearts just as deeply,” he added.

On the occasion, the Lt Governor laid the foundation stone for a cultural heritage centre at the Mata Bhadrakali Asthapan. He also commended NHPC for undertaking infrastructure projects worth Rs 6.60 crore at Thalwal, including community facility enhancement, ghat development, parking, yagya shala and compound wall construction.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, Trust President Dileep ji Pandita, NHPC Executive Director Ram Swaroop, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas, and senior officials were present on the occasion.
