Bandipora, 10 January (KNS): In a continued effort to strengthen civil–military cooperation and provide quality healthcare to remote populations, the Indian Army organised a comprehensive medical camp at Malangam on Friday.

The day-long camp, conducted from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in collaboration with ASG Eye Hospital and district administration, witnessed an overwhelming response from the local population. A total of 703 civilians from the area of responsibility availed themselves of various medical services.

The medical camp focused on early diagnosis, health awareness, and accessible healthcare, especially for underserved communities. A wide range of medical facilities were provided, including ophthalmology consultations, paediatric services, gynaecology services, general medicine consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, and ECG testing.

During the camp, a critical medical emergency was promptly handled when one individual was diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) during an ECG test.

The patient was immediately evacuated to the District Hospital Bandipora, where further treatment was administered. The timely diagnosis and swift response by the medical team ensured the patient’s safety, highlighting the preparedness and professionalism of the camp staff.

The initiative was widely appreciated by local residents, who lauded the Indian Army for its humanitarian outreach and commitment to community welfare. Such medical camps not only address immediate healthcare needs but also reinforce trust and cooperation between the security forces and the civilian population.

The Indian Army reaffirmed its resolve to continue similar welfare activities in the future, contributing towards the overall well-being and development of the region.(KNS)
