‘Interfaith Dialogue’ conference held in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 24 The JK Christian Sabha in collaboration with the United Peace Alliance Organised a National Conference on Interfaith Dialogue” at Tagore Hall Srinagar.

The statement issued to KNS reads: apart from representatives  of the National Dalit Watch,  from New Delhi,Hyderabad, Chinnai, Callcutta, Kochi and Lucknow, the conference was attended by a galaxy of socio-political activists, religious scholars from all  the major faiths, lawyers, Academicians, Writers, Journalists and Students.”

” The speakers were in agreement that the religion was being weaponised and politicised by the powers that be to create divisions in the communities by spreading hate and animosity in the society. The Participants took a pledge to carry interfaith dialogue forward for the larger peace and harmony in the society,.” It added.

Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Muzaffar Shah vice President Awami National Conference,  Mufti-e-Azam Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was not allowed and was represented by Syed Shams-ur-Rehman,  OP Shah from Culcutta,  Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Santosh Kuumar, a Kashmir Pandit leader,  Dr.

 Richard Davodoss from Chinnai, Sister Manju from Hyderabad, Narender Singh Khalsa Chairman Sikh Intellectual circle, senior journalist Rameez Makhdoomi, Sameer Suddiqui, Hamidullah Hamid, Gh. Muhammad Dar, rtd SSP,  Noorul Amin,  Rashid Rahil Editor Asian Mail, Asho Pittar Matto chairman JK Chiristian Sabha, Jammu, Ganzfar Ali Mirza, Omar Gull, Prof MB Magray, Shakeel Qalander,  Ghulam Hassan Khan, Agha Farooq, Advocate Naveed Bukhtiar,  Angad Singh Khalsa, Dr.  Sheikh Ghulam Rasool chairman JK RTI Movement, Saqib Makhdoom and Mir Shahid Saleem
