Kashmir Pen News Bureau Srinagar, November 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated The International Film Festival of Srinagar, organised by the Vomedh Group, marking a vibrant celebration of cinema and creative expression in the Valley.
Earlier in the morning session, prominent filmmakers, writers, and artists were honoured with mementos for their outstanding contributions to art and culture. Among those felicitated were Bashir Arif, Nisar Naseem, Mushtaq Bala, Amin Bhat, Shafaque Qureshi, Mohammad Yousuf Shaheen, and Gul Reyaz.
In his inaugural address, the LG urged filmmakers to create films that narrate the ordeal of terror victims, expose the ringleaders of the terror ecosystem, and showcase the remarkable transformation Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed after August 2019.
He emphasized that cinema is a powerful medium to tell stories of truth, resilience, and human spirit, encouraging storytellers to capture the evolving narrative of peace, progress, and cultural revival in the region.
The festival, featuring filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across the country, aims to strengthen cultural exchange and highlight the resurgence of filmmaking in Jammu and Kashmir | Kashmir Pen
