On 8th March 2026, the International Human Rights Organization – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter (IHRO) proudly commemorates International Women’s Day on the historic land of Kashmir, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to women’s empowerment, gender equality, and human dignity.
As part of this prestigious initiative, IHRO J&K Chapter will honour 100 outstanding women from across the Kashmir Division with Hosla Afzai (Encouragement) Awards, recognizing their resilience, leadership, and meaningful contributions to society. This celebration reflects IHRO’s dedication to acknowledging women who inspire change and shape a stronger, more inclusive future.
Among the distinguished awardees, Architect Mrs. Ishrat Nowshehri will be felicitated—an honour that stands as a matter of great pride for IHRO.
Architect Ishrat Nowshehri
Architect Ishrat Nowshehri is a Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi–registered architect and the founder of Ishrat Nowshehri & Associates, Srinagar. An academic achiever, she secured the top position in her final-year design jury at Karnataka University.
Her professional excellence has been recognized at state, national, and international levels. With a diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, interior, landscaping, renovation, and turnkey projects, she exemplifies design excellence and integrity. Despite international opportunities, including partnership offers from firms in Dubai (UAE), she chose to remain in Kashmir, dedicating her expertise to the service and development of her community.
She believes that success is built on commitment, perseverance, and unwavering dedication.
Through this initiative, IHRO Jammu & Kashmir Chapter strongly reiterates its mission to advance human rights, promote gender equality, and build an empowered society.
