Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today said that Jammu and Kashmir should act as a bridge of peace between India, Pakistan and China.
Speaking to reporters, the former J&K chief minister said that the PDP’s agenda has always been that J&K acts as a ‘bridge of peace’ between India and its neighbouring countries. She said her late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s dream of making J&K as a bridge between New Delhi, Islamabad and Beijing needs to be fulfilled.
To protect the future of Kashmiri youth, we will go to any length. Earlier all laws were made in consultation with the public and they were people-friendly. But now, laws are being imposed on Kashmiris which are against their existence & we won’t tolerate it,” She added.
She further said that “It was dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that Jammu and Kashmir should be a bridge between India and its neighbours”.
Mehbooba Mufti further said, “PDP has always had an agenda that Jammu and Kashmir should be a bridge to peace. Our country, whether it is Pakistan… China is coming in from the LAC. Mufti saheb dreamed that Jammu and Kashmir would have to build a bridge between Hindustan and Hamasaya country. Markazi Sarkar (Central Government) will have to adopt the same formula. ”
When asked about for holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba said, “Election is not a priority for me.”
