New Delhi : 20 Jul : J&K Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, says, “It is the misfortune of the people of Jammu and Kashmir that today we have to come to Delhi to protest and remind our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of their promise. You promised the people of Jammu and Kashmir that you would restore statehood after the elections.

Today, it has been nearly a year and a half, and neither the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister has fulfilled that promise. To make them honor that commitment, the National Conference, the Congress, and all our other partner parties have come together to Delhi today to remind them that after nearly a year and a half since the Omar Abdullah government was formed, yet you are not fulfilling your promise.’ You will have to fulfill this promise. You made it in Parliament, you made it in the Supreme Court, and you made it to every single child in Jammu and Kashmir that you would restore statehood. When will that ‘appropriate time’ of yours finally come? We have come to Delhi today just to find out the answer to this.” ( PTI )
