Jammu Kashmir Govt Appoints 25 Liaison Officers Ahead of Parliamentary Panel Visit

SRINAGAR 20 Jun : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 25 senior officers as Liaison Officers to facilitate the proposed study visit of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas scheduled to take place in the Union Territory from June 25 to June 29, 2026.

According to Government Order No. 1106-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated June 19, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the officers have been tasked with ensuring seamless coordination, protocol management and logistical support for Members of Parliament and accompanying officials during their visit.

The order states that the designated officers will be responsible for coordinating official engagements, facilitating interactions with stakeholders and ensuring the smooth conduct of the parliamentary delegation’s programme across Jammu and Kashmir.

The appointed Liaison Officers include Sheeba Inayat, Programme Officer, ICDS Project Baramulla; Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department; Bashir Ahmad Padder, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Srinagar; Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Commissioner, State Taxes Department, Kashmir; Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Collector, LCMA Srinagar; Mirza Shahid Ali Beigh, Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs, Kashmir; Aijaz Ahmad Shigon, Personnel Officer, Office of PCCF J&K; Hakim Riyaz-ul-Haq, Deputy Secretary, School Education Department; Mushtaq Ahmad Maqdoomi, Deputy Director Administration, Social Welfare Kashmir; and Asif Amin Chandel, Assistant Commissioner, Disaster Management, J&K.

Other officers nominated include Ibad-ur-Rehman, Deputy Director Administration, Handicrafts J&K; Arshid Qadir Bhat, District Election Officer, Ganderbal; Altaf Hussain Bhat, General Manager, JKTDC Kashmir; Sakhi Mohd Khan, Deputy Secretary, Social Welfare Department; Dr Iqbal Hussain Mir, Personnel Officer, Directorate of School Education Kashmir; Dr Irfan Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department; Azhar Amin Zargar, Deputy Secretary, Agriculture Production Department; Abdul Majeed Rather, Deputy Secretary, BOPEE; Qaiser Mehmood, Deputy Secretary, ARI and Trainings Department; and Mohd Imran Naik, Deputy Secretary, Social Welfare Department.

The remaining officers include Tahira Tabassum, Deputy Director, Handicrafts Kashmir; Tariq Ahmad, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department; Mohammad Zubair Lattoo, Deputy Director Information (Headquarters), Srinagar; Abdul Rashid Raina, Deputy Director, Tourism Kashmir; and Mohammad Yousuf Ganaie, District Social Welfare Officer, Srinagar.

The government has directed all designated Liaison Officers to report to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for detailed briefings regarding their duties, responsibilities and protocol arrangements ahead of the visit.

Officials said the appointments have been made to ensure efficient coordination, smooth movement, effective communication and the hassle-free conduct of the Parliamentary Standing Committee’s engagements during its official tour of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas is expected to undertake field assessments, review sector-specific issues and hold interactions with stakeholders as part of its study visit to the Union Territory.
