SRINAGAR 15 Sep : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 29 candidates as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) in the J&K Police (Gazetted) Service through direct recruitment under the Combined Competitive Examination-2024.
The appointments were sanctioned under Government Order No. 1521-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on September 15, following recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.
The appointees have been appointed temporarily against posts in the J&K Police (Gazetted) Service in Pay Level 8, carrying a pay scale of Rs 47,600-1,51,100, with immediate effect.
The selection was made on the basis of the Combined Competitive Examination-2024, conducted by the J&K Public Service Commission. The government order referred to the Commission’s letter No. PSC/Exam/CCE(M)/2024 dated May 11, 2026.
Among those appointed are Syed Dawood Bini Salam, Prabhjot Singh, Ayesha Sadiqa Mintoo, Mir Mujeeb, Saunakshi, Amir Hassan, Adarsh Kalandria, Muhtashim Ishaq, Faizan ul Haq, Sparsh Sharma and Wasim Ali.
The list also includes Pallvi Sharma, Ishfaq Hussain, Abhishek Sudan, Shubam Sharma, Azhar Abass Lone, Umit Verma, Gudia Chib, Arjun Bhagat, Mehraj Din, Rohit Sharma, Khalid Bashir, Chakhil Mahajan, Umesh Deval, Mohd Talib Zargar, Nikhil Langeh, Mohsin Ishtiyaq, Nawaz Ahmed, Navritu Sharma and one further candidate listed in the government order.
The appointees will remain on probation for two years and will be required to undergo prescribed training and pass the examinations stipulated under the relevant rules.
Before commencing police training, the appointees have been directed to report to the Director General of the J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPA&RD) for the foundation course prescribed under the Training Policy notified through Government Order No. 916-GAD of 2019 dated August 9, 2019.
After completing the foundation course, they will report to the Director General of Police, J&K, for the prescribed training.
The government has made joining conditional upon production of original qualification, date of birth, domicile and relevant category certificates, along with any other documents required under the rules.
Candidates have been given 21 days from the date of issuance of the appointment order to join. Those failing to join within the stipulated period will forfeit their right to appointment, which will be treated as cancelled ab initio without further notice.
The order also provides that salaries will be drawn and disbursed only after satisfactory verification reports regarding the genuineness of qualification, date of birth and relevant category certificates, and subject to submission of the prescribed affidavit.
In cases where a verifying agency reports adversely against a candidate, or any certificate is found to be invalid or not genuine, the appointment will automatically stand cancelled and the candidate will have no claim to the post.
The government has further directed that candidates who have obtained self-employment loans from the District Industries Centre or Employment Department must relinquish proprietorship of, and any stake in, the concerned unit or enterprise before joining government service. They will also have to repay the outstanding loan liability through suitable monthly instalments to be worked out by the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officer from their salary.
The concerned DDOs have been directed to obtain affidavits from such appointees covering relinquishment of proprietorship or stakes and repayment of the loan, and to personally monitor recovery.
The government order makes it clear that the sequence of names in the appointment list will not determine seniority. Seniority will be fixed by the respective cadre-controlling department under the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The appointment and allocation of candidates to the service will also remain subject to the outcome of medical re-examination and any writ petition pending before a competent court, where applicable.
