SRINAGAR 01 Jun : A Jammu and Kashmir Police Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI) was killed and another commuter injured after a speeding car rammed into their two-wheelers in the Gangyal Pulli area of Jammu evening, officials said.
The deceased officer has been identified as 50-year-old Karamjit Singh, a resident of Satwari. He was riding his motorcycle home when the rashly driven car struck him, according to officials.
The vehicle also collided with a scooty ridden by Rajesh Kumar, who sustained injuries in the accident.
Both the victims were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment. However, Singh succumbed to his injuries during treatment, officials said.
Police have arrested the driver of the car. His identity was not immediately known.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
