The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Alliance (JKTA) held a key meeting today, chaired by Mr. Noor Muhammad Shangloo, with heads of travel, hotel, and houseboat associations in attendance.

Discussions focused on revitalizing Kashmir’s tourism industry, emphasizing the revival of traditional roadshows and active participation in major travel fairs to aggressively promote the region. Participants called for a single-window clearance system to streamline the renewal of tourism unit licenses and reduce bureaucratic delays.

A proposal to declare Kashmir houseboats as heritage was also discussed, with members highlighting the importance of preserving houseboats as the “crown of Kashmir tourism” and ensuring stronger support for houseboat owners.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with JKTA reaffirming its commitment to advancing Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism industry and promoting the region as a premier travel destination.
