Summer Zone Schools to Function 9 AM–3 PM; Winter Zone Timing Fixed at 9:30 AM–3:30 PM
Jammu, Sep 28 : The Directorate of School Education Jammu has revised the school timings for government as well as private recognised schools up to Higher Secondary level falling under the Summer and Winter Zones of Jammu Division.
As per Order No. 34-DSEJ of 2026 dated September 26, a copy of which lies with news agency stated that, all schools falling in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall observe school timings from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with effect from October 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, schools falling in the Winter Zone of Jammu Division shall function from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, also with effect from October 1.
The order has been issued by the Director School Education Jammu in reference to earlier communications dated March 28 and April 22, 2026.
The Directorate has directed all concerned institutions to adhere to the revised timings.
“Any deviation to this order shall invite action against the institution, under rules in vogue,” the order states.
